HOW DOES A SMALL FAMILY-OWNED FINANCIAL SERVICES FIRM MAKE A BIGGER NAME FOR ITSELF AND A BIG IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY?

Thirty-two years after his father founded Chepenik Financial, Jason Chepenik joined him at the helm. The partners shared an exciting vision for the firm’s future, but first, they needed our help to redefine and reposition the decades-old company.

OUR FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS:

Develop a brand that conveys the firm’s long history, commitment to client success, and unifies the distinct personalities of the father and son at the helm. Our interviews unveiled that, unlike traditional firms that dominate the industry, Chepenik Financial is innovative, creative, even a little bit playful. The new brand exemplifies their attitude.

With the brand as its foundation, the firm focused on growing business over the next several years, focusing specifically on corporate retirement plans. Think Creative became a trusted strategic partner for all of Chepenik’s communication needs. For more than a decade, we have worked side-by-side with the leadership team on a variety of business development initiatives, from creating sales proposals for hot prospects to planning and promoting professional seminars to on-boarding new participants to make Chepenik an even more valued partner to its own clients.

SINCE JOINING FORCES WITH THINK CREATIVE IN 1999,

Chepenik's business has grown from 20 plans with approximately 10,000 participants and $250 million in managed assets to nearly 100 plans with 100,000 participants and more than $1 billion in managed assets.

Our innovative partnership has taken us down a variety of paths, and In 2015, we forged a partnership with Chepenik Financial to launch the 4.01K Race for Financial Fitness, a community event promoting physical and financial health. The inaugural race drew more than 300 runners and raised over $40,000 for Junior Achievement of Central Florida.

In 2016, the race expanded to two cities and raised $140,000 and attracted 600 participants in Orlando and more than 350 in Minneapolis. In 2017, seven cities across the country will host the 4.01K Race for Financial Fitness, with NBC Today Show financial correspeondent, Jean Chatzky serving as the race’s official Finainacial Head Coach.

The event’s breakout success has elevated Jason Chepenik’s stature in the industry and helped solidify Chepenik Financial’s standing as one of industry’s most innovative and caring companies.

“Whether we're pitching new business or figuring out innovative ways to better serve our existing clients, I know I can always count on Think to bring great ideas to the table and help execute them.”
